inp.polri.go.id - East Java. The Indonesian National Police (INP), along with corn farmers and farmer groups (Gapoktan) in Tuban Regency, are preparing to welcome President Prabowo Subianto to the Simultaneous Corn Harvest in the Second Quarter of 2026, scheduled to take place in Kedung Sari Hamlet, Tuwiri Wetan Village, Merakurak District, Tuban Regency, East Java, on Saturday (5/16/2026).

The President's planned visit is seen as encouragement for the farming community and a momentum to strengthen their shared commitment to supporting national food security.

Ahead of the event, the enthusiasm of the community and farmers is evident in the various preparations being made.

Tuban Regency itself is one of the largest corn-producing centers in East Java, with approximately 629 hectares of land entering the harvest season this year. This potential makes Tuban a strategic area to support the national corn self-sufficiency target.

The Assistant Chief of Police for Human Resources, who is also the Head of the National Police Food Security Task Force, Inspector General Anwar, stated that the Simultaneous Corn Harvest is concrete evidence of the collaboration between the government, the police, and farmers in strengthening national food security.

"We, along with Tuban corn farmers, enthusiastically welcome the planned attendance of the President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Simultaneous Corn Harvest in the second quarter of 2026. His visit among the farmers is a major motivation to continue increasing productivity and strengthening the path toward national corn self-sufficiency," said Anwar.

According to him, the success of the food sector is inseparable from the collaboration of all parties, including the support of INP through mentoring farmers, distribution of superior seeds, fertilizers, agricultural equipment, and strengthening synergies with farmer groups through regional levels.
