inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police have been investigating a suspected bombing at Srengseng Sawah 15 Public Elementary School (SDN) in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, on the first day of the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS). 

Police received the report at 7:30 a.m. The students and teachers were reportedly attending a ceremony on the first day of MPLS when a teacher and administrative officer received the bomb threat message.

Police urged the public to remain calm and not panic in response to the alleged bomb threat.

The Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto, confirmed that officers have controlled the situation at the scene and that maximum security measures have been implemented.

"We urge the public to remain calm and allow officers to conduct a thorough inspection and investigation," said Budi on Monday (7/13/2026).

He asked the public to fully entrust the handling of the incident to law enforcement. Budi also reminded the people not to spread unverified information to prevent unrest in public spaces.

To ensure the safety of the school community, the police have moved quickly to evacuate all students and teachers.

"Our team, along with the Indonesian National Police's Special Detachment 88 Anti-terror Squad, has also been deployed to conduct a thorough search of the area," said Budi.

The current focus of the police investigation is to investigate the origin of the threat message, identify the perpetrator who sent it, and uncover the motive behind the terror attack targeting the elementary school.
