Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Southeast Maluku Sub-regional Police arrested two men on Sunday (19/4/2026) for the fatal stabbing of Agrapinus Rumatora, the local Golkar Party chairman, at the Karel Sadsuitubun Airport exit.
"Officers led by the local police office chief arrested suspects HR and FU just two hours after the targeted assault occurred," confirmed Maluku Regional Police spokesperson, Senior Superintendent Rositah Umasugi, as cited by antaranews.com.
The victim, popularly known as Nus Kei, was attacked by unidentified assailants immediately upon his arrival from Jakarta at approximately 11.25 am local time. Although family members rushed him to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after noon. Forensic investigators are currently interrogating the suspects to determine the motive behind the killing, while the Maluku Police Chief has ordered a transparent and thorough probe.
Authorities have urged the victim’s supporters and the local community to remain calm and avoid retaliatory actions. Security presence has been bolstered in the region to maintain order as the legal process continues.
