inp.polri.go.id - Aceh.  Aceh Regional Police destroys a 20 hectares of marijuana field that are spread across Lampanah, Aceh Besar Regency, with an estimated harvest of 50 tons.

This activity was the result of findings by the Aceh Regional Police Narcotics Criminal Investigation Directorate as part of Operation Antik Seulawah 2026, which took place on Wednesday (4/29/2026).

Aceh Regional Police Chief Inspector General Marzuki Ali Basyah explained that of the total land discovered, approximately three hectares were destroyed directly at the location. 

"The Aceh Regional Police discovered approximately 20 hectares of marijuana fields with an estimated harvest of 50 tons, and today, part of the area is being destroyed," he said on Wednesday (4/29/2026).

This destruction involved various elements, including the Aceh Besar Sub-regional Police, the Indonesian Military (TNI), the local government, and the local community. This step is part of an integrated effort to eradicate narcotics trafficking from upstream to downstream.

In addition to enforcement action, the Aceh Regional Police are also partnering with young millennial farmers as a long-term strategy to educate the public to switch from marijuana to legal and productive commodities, such as coffee and vegetables. 

"We hope they can become agents of change in society," said Marzuki Ali Basyah.

He emphasized that eradicating narcotics requires the active participation of all parties. 

"We must not allow the circulation of narcotics to continue, as this is a serious threat to the nation's future. Public support is needed for this effort to be successful and sustainable," he emphasized.
