Head of Public Relations for the West Java Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, stated that the suspect's case file has been declared administratively complete and can be immediately submitted to the Public Prosecutor (JPU).
"Today, July 21, 2026, we need to inform you that investigators from the Directorate for the Protection of Women and Children and the Eradication of Human Trafficking will submit the case file to the JPU," Hendra said in Bandung on Tuesday (7/21/2026).
Hendra explained that the transfer process was carried out after investigators completed all stages of the investigation and completed the case file according to the prosecutor's instructions.
Hendra stated that the West Java Regional Police conducted a reconstruction of the case at the West Java Regional Police Headquarters on July 2, 2026, with the presence of suspect Taufik Hidayat. In the reconstruction, 21 scenes were reenacted at three key crime scenes: Crime Scenes 3, 4, and 6.
He stated that the reconstruction revealed several acts of violence committed by the suspect against the victim, resulting in serious injuries.
"This is a legal construct that we have implemented and strengthened with the elements of the article," he said.
Previously, the West Java Regional Police named Taufik Hidayat as a suspect in the confinement and abuse of YTR, which allegedly lasted for approximately three years in a boarding house in the Cileunyi area, Bandung Regency.
As a result of the incident, the victim suffered several serious injuries that impacted his physical condition, including impaired vision, difficulty speaking, and the inability to walk normally.
