The Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police Drugs Criminal Investigation Unit, along with officers from the Tanah Abang Sector Metro Police, conducted patrols and took action against the distribution of illegal drugs in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta. The activity took place on KS Tubun street, Jati Bunder, Jembatan Tinggi, Tanah Abang.

Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Reynold E.P. Hutagalung, stated that this patrol was part of the police's ongoing efforts to suppress the distribution of illegal drugs in his jurisdiction.

"We conduct these patrols and actions routinely as a preventative measure and to enforce the law against the distribution of illegal drugs," explained Reynold in a statement on Tuesday (3/24/2026).

During the activity, joint security were deployed to search several vulnerable areas. Reynold emphasized the importance of community participation in assisting the police in monitoring the environment for potential illegal drug distribution.

The Head of the Drugs Criminal Investigation Unit, Superintendent Wisnu S. Kuncoro, added that mobile patrols are being conducted and targeting locations deemed vulnerable to drug trafficking.

"We are conducting intensive patrols and targeting areas with the potential for illegal drug trafficking. We are also questioning suspects," he said.

He stated that officers have not yet discovered any drug trafficking activity based on the patrols. However, the police ensured that similar patrols will continue to be intensified to maintain a conducive public order and security situation.
