inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A fire broke out at the Directorate General of Village Government Development Building of the Ministry of Home Affairs, located on Pasar Minggu Km 19 Highway, West Pejaten, Pasar Minggu District, South Jakarta. 

The incident, which occurred at 1:30 p.m., was immediately handled by joint officers, including personnel from Mobile Brigade Unit of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, who were deployed to the scene.

A total of 16 Mobile Brigade personnel moved to assist in extinguishing the fire and securing the affected area. The fire was extinguished around 3:00 p.m., preventing it from spreading to other surrounding buildings.

Activities around the location gradually returned to normal after the situation was declared safe and under control. The Head of the Mobile Brigade Unit of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Henik Maryanto, stated that the rapid response was carried out to ensure the impact of the fire was minimized early on.

"We immediately deployed personnel to assist in extinguishing the fire and securing the area, so that the potential for greater risk could be prevented," he said on Monday (4/20/2026).

According to him, fires in high-activity areas like Pasar Minggu are a concern because they have the potential to recur if not addressed early. He ensured that personnel preparedness continues to be enhanced as a preventative measure and to ensure a swift response in any emergency situation.

He urged the public to be more vigilant by ensuring electrical installations remain safe and avoiding the use of hazardous ignition sources. These steps are crucial to prevent similar incidents and maintain environmental safety.
