inp.polri.go.id - Aimas. The Southwest Papua Regional Police are hunting for seven individuals on the wanted list (DPO) in connection with the murder of three civilians, including a health worker, in Bamusbama District, Tambrauw Regency.
Acting Head of Public Relations for the Southwest Papua Regional Police, Police Assistant Superintendent Jenny Hengkelare, stated that the seven DPOs had been named as suspects based on the examination of 12 previously detained witnesses.
"From the examination of the 12 witnesses, information was obtained regarding the names of those suspected of being the perpetrators of the murders that occurred on March 8, 2026, and March 16, 2026," Jenny said in a press statement at the Southwest Papua Regional Police Headquarters, Wednesday (3/25/2026).
She explained that the seven suspects currently on the wanted list have the initials GY (Gidion Yesnath), YY (Yudas Yesyan), TY (Tobias Yekwam), MY (Maximus Yesyan), AY (Ateng Yekwam), YB (Yohanis Yeblo), and SY (Silas Yesnath).
"The police are still searching for these seven wanted suspects," she said.
Regarding the alleged involvement of a certain group in the murder case, Jenny emphasized that her team is still investigating and has temporarily named the wanted suspects.
"We have named them as suspects in the murder case," she said.
