inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Police revealed that dozens of CCTV cameras have been secured in connection with the acid attack on the Deputy Coordinator of KontraS Andrie Yunus by an unknown person. 

The CCTV footage revealed a strong acid solution being poured over the victim's face and body.

"The victim, Andrie Yunus, was allegedly attacked by an unknown person who doused him with a liquid suspected to be a strong acid," explained the Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Iman Imanuddin, Monday (3/16/2026).

According to him, the joint investigation team analyzed CCTV camera footage and communication channels along the location. 

At least 86 CCTV cameras were obtained from several sources along the route allegedly taken by the perpetrators: 7 cameras from the electronic ticketing system, 27 from the Communications and Information Office, 8 from the Transportation Agency, and 44 from homes and offices.

"Of the 86 CCTV cameras we analyzed, we obtained 2,610 video images totaling 10,320 minutes," he said.

Iman added that the joint team is currently conducting a digital analysis of all the CCTV footage they have obtained.
