inp.polri.go.id - South Sulawesi. The Medical Unit of South Sulawesi Regional Police sends the Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team to the location of missing ATR 42-500 aircraft of Indonesia Air Transport.
The Head Medical Unit of South Sulawesi Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Muhammad Haris says there are 12 personnel deployed equipped with medical and identification equipment.
“We have sent three teams of four personnel equipped with the necessary equipment,” says Haris on Sunday (1/18/2026).
The deployed DVI team are tasked to provide the first aid to the victims found to survive the crash. He wished all plane crews and passengers were found safe and sound.
“However, if things got worse, we have established an ante-mortem post at the Health Department for data collection," he explained.
Haris stated that his team has not yet received any information about any casualties in the incident.
