inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The South Kalimantan Regional Police sent 617 people back to their hometown in the free homecoming program to various regions in 11 regencies across South Kalimantan using 13 buses and one minibus.
"Today, together, we are launching the 2026 Free Homecoming program to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri," said South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan, Friday (3/13/2026).
He revealed that the public is far more enthusiastic compared to last year, when only 512 people traveled on 10 buses. In this, Rosyanto emphasized the police's commitment to helping people travel home for free without worrying about any costs.
Initiated by the Director of Traffic for the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Fahri Siregar, the free homecoming program also ensures passenger safety by conducting thorough vehicle and driver health inspections, including drug tests.
"The ramp check results for the entire bus fleet showed them fit for travelers. Today, we are affixing stickers to the buses," said the Regional Police Chief.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the South Kalimantan Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), Supian HK, expressed his appreciation for the free homecoming program, which demonstrates the Police's growing engagement with the community.
As a tangible form of support, he presented IDR 100,000 in cash to each passenger upon greeting them on the bus.
"Our program is extraordinary; this is a demonstration of the Police's commitment to the community," he said.
On that occasion, Rosyanto, along with Bhayangkari Chairperson Yennie Rosyanto Yudha, handed over Eid gift packages to travelers to provide for their hometowns.
The Presisi Police Free Homecoming Program covers three routes: route A from Banjarbaru to Tapin, Hulu Sungai Selatan, Hulu Sungai Tengah, and Hulu Sungai Utara Regencies. Route B from Banjarbaru to Tapin, Hulu Sungai Selatan, Hulu Sungai Tengah, Hulu Sungai Utara, Balangan, and Tabalong Regencies. Route C from Banjarbaru to Tanah Laut and Tanah Bumbu Regencies.
