inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police is investigating allegations of child sexual abuse involving an inline skate coach in South Tangerang. This case is being handled with a focus on protecting the victim.
The Director of Criminal Acts for Women and Children Services and Human Trafficking Crimes at the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Rita Wulandari, stated that the victim is a 16-year-old child. The investigation process is being conducted carefully and in stages, taking into account the victim's psychological condition.
"In cases involving child victims, we ensure that the handling process prioritizes the protection, support, and recovery of the victim," she said on Thursday (5/21/2026).
Rita explained that the case stemmed from a relationship between the coach and his student at a sports club. Investigators suspect that the suspect exploited the trust he had established as a coach over the underage victim.
"Based on preliminary investigation results, the suspect is suspected of exploiting the trust he had established as a coach over the victim. These incidents occurred over a period of time in South Tangerang and South Jakarta," said Rita.
She added that the case came to light after the victim's family learned of communication between the victim and the suspect.
"Investigators have questioned the victim, her family, relevant witnesses, psychologists, digital forensic experts, and medical personnel to strengthen the evidence in the case," explained Rita.
The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police urges parents, families, and educational and sports institutions to increase supervision of their children. Police also urge the public to immediately report any incidents of child abuse or suspicions.
