inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Sumenep Sub-regional Police, East Java, are investigating the discovery of 23 packages of suspected cocaine, weighing a total of approximately 27.83 kilograms, on the coast of Pasir Putih Kahuripan Beach, Giligenting District, on April 13, 2026.

"We are currently conducting an intensive investigation to uncover the network behind the drug trafficking operation on Giligenting Island, which was discovered yesterday," said Sumenep Sub-regional  Police Chief, Superintendent Anang Hardiyanto, Tuesday (4/14/2026).

He also appealed to the public to continue working together to eradicate drugs. "This is vital  to combat illicit drug trafficking, maintain security, and safeguard the future of the younger generation in this district," Anang emphasized.

He explained that the drugs, suspected to be cocaine, have been secured by the police and will be sent to the East Java Regional Police Forensic Laboratory to determine their chemical composition.

Previously, people of Lombi Timur Hamlet, Gedugan Village, Giligenting District, Sumenep Regency, were shocked by the discovery of 23 suspicious packages on the coast of Pasir Putih Kahuripan Beach on Monday afternoon (4/13/2026).

They then reported the discovery to the Giligenting Sector Police, before finally the case was taken over by the Sumenep Sub-regional Police.
