Police to Investigate the Murder of a Dutch Citizen in Badung, Bali

inp.polri.go.id - Bali. The Badung Sub-regional Police confirmed they have identified two suspects in the murder of a Dutch citizen with the initials RP (49) in Badung, ​​Bali.

Badung Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Joseph Edward Purba, explained that based on the crime scene investigation and witness statements, the murder is suspected to be two individuals.

"Two perpetrators have been identified, but detailed characteristics are still being developed," he said.

Joseph explained that in an effort to solve the case, investigators have questioned five witnesses and will continue to conduct further questioning. Police are also actively reviewing CCTV footage from the area and gathering statements from those closest to the victim.

Joseph stated that, based on preliminary data from immigration authorities, the victim had been in Bali since 2024 and had previously gone in and out of Indonesia several times. The victim also reportedly owned several businesses in Bali.

Previously, a Dutch citizen with the initials RP died after being stabbed by two unknown assailants at Villa Amira No. 1, Banjar Anyar Kelod, Kerobokan, North Kuta, Badung Regency, on Monday evening (3/23/2026).

The incident began around 10:00 PM when the victim and a female witness were walking towards the villa.

At that moment, two men riding a black motorcycle passed by and immediately attacked the victim with a sharp weapon. The witness, panicked, fled for her life.

After the perpetrators fled, the witness approached the bloodied victim and immediately called for help. The victim was then taken to BIMC Kuta Hospital by ambulance.

However, upon arrival at the hospital, the victim was unconscious. The medical team administered emergency medical care, but the victim was pronounced dead at 11:29 PM WITA due to blood loss.
