inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. The Bali Regional Police have uncovered an alleged sexual assault by a security guard against an Australian citizen with the initials KNB (22) at a nightclub in the Seminyak area, Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali.
The Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Bali Regional Police, Senior Superintendent I Gede Adhi Muliawarman, stated that the case was uncovered based on police report No. LP/B/225/III/2026/SPKT/Denpasar Police/Bali Police, dated March 24, 2026.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at approximately 4:00 a.m. in the women's restroom at the nightclub.
"The victim, a female foreign national, initially went to a nightclub. After leaving the venue, she realized she had left her belongings behind and went back in accompanied by a security guard at the venue," said Adhi Muliawarman in Denpasar on Friday (3/27/2026).
He explained that while in the women's bathroom, the security guard allegedly committed sexual assault against the victim, leading to sexual intercourse.
Following the incident, the victim reported the incident to the Denpasar Sub-regional Police.
The police then swiftly followed up on the report and arrested the alleged perpetrator on Thursday, March 26, 2026, in the West Denpasar area.
From intensive examination of the defendant and witnesses, including the victim, investigators discovered an act of sexual assault at the scene.
The alleged perpetrator, identified as ABM (29), works as a security guard at the nightclub.
Investigators are currently applying Article 6 letter a of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning Criminal Acts of Sexual Violence, which carries a maximum prison sentence of four years and/or a maximum fine of IDR 200 million.
