inp.polri.go.id - Nganjuk. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is confirmed to attend the inauguration of the Marsinah Museum and Lodging in Nglundo Village, Sukomoro District, Nganjuk Regency, East Java, on Saturday (5/16/2026).

The President of the Confederation of All Indonesian Trade Unions, Andi Gani Nena Wea, confirmed the President's attendance to reporters on Friday (5/15/2026). He stated that his office had received official confirmation of the President's attendance two days ago.

"It's confirmed, President Prabowo will attend the inauguration of the Marsinah Museum and Lodging," said Andi Gani.

According to the prepared agenda, President Prabowo is scheduled to arrive at the location at around 8:45 a.m., and the inauguration ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m. There will be two keynote addresses, one from Andi Gani and the other from President Prabowo.

Following his remarks, the President will conduct the inauguration ceremony by pressing a symbolic button to mark the opening of the Marsinah Museum and Lodging. Afterward, Andi Gani will accompany the President on a tour of the museum grounds.

"After pressing the button, I will take him on a tour of the museum," said Andi Gani.

The museum was built to chronicle Marsinah's life and struggle as a symbol of the labor struggle in Indonesia, from childhood to the end. A lodging at the back of the museum is available for pilgrims from outside the region.

"There's a lodging at the back that we've prepared for those who don't have accommodations, and it's free. The maximum stay is one night," he said.

The inauguration is expected to be attended by around 7,000 workers from various regions in East Java, including Surabaya, Mojokerto, Jombang, and Nganjuk. Several international labor figures are also scheduled to attend, including the Secretary General of the ITUC-Asia Pacific, Shoya Yoshida.

Andi Gani considered the President's inauguration of the museum a significant moment in the history of the national labor struggle. He believed the President's presence in Nganjuk demonstrated the nation's respect for Marsinah's struggle, which has now been awarded the title of national hero.

"Certainly, we should be grateful that the historical symbol of the labor struggle, Mrs. Marsinah, has received the honorable title of national hero," he said.
