Inp.polri.go.id - Nganjuk. President Prabowo Subianto ordered the Indonesian National Police (INP) and the Indonesian Military (TNI) on Saturday (16/5/2026), to institutionalize sweeping internal cleanups and ensure no personnel protect illegal operations.
Speaking in Nganjuk, East Java, the President emphasized that law enforcement officers are funded by the public and must serve the citizens faithfully.
"TNI Commander, Indonesian Police Chief, I do not want to hear any more about officers failing to uphold justice. There must be no backing of any kind," President Prabowo asserted during the inauguration of the Marsinah Museum, as reported by antaranews.com.
He explicitly warned personnel against backing smuggling, narcotics, gambling, and other illicit activities, demanding institutional transparency and internal corrections.
President Prabowo acknowledged that current leaders in both institutions are actively initiating reforms. He reiterated that the military and police must function strictly as people-centric institutions, pointing to their recent field support in achieving national food self-sufficiency.
