Inp.polri.go.id - Probolinggo. The Probolinggo Sub-regional Police have arrested three suspects involved in a theft targeting Thai tourists at the Mount Bromo.
The organized group struck on 15 February 2026, at the Wonotoro village parking area, stealing three suitcases and three bags after breaking into the victims' Hiace van. The theft resulted in estimated losses of Rp108 million for the 54-year-old victim, identified by the initials MKJ.
“Our investigation led to the arrest of the executor, the mastermind, and an accomplice who helped conceal evidence after the luggage was discarded in a river,” said Probolinggo Police Chief Superintendent M. Wahyudin Latif during a press conference on Tuesday.
The suspects, identified as AR, ES, and NF, were tracked down across Probolinggo between 21 and 24 February 2026. Police seized a getaway vehicle and recovered the discarded belongings.
