inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has begun implementing the Irrigation Water Utilization Improvement Acceleration Program (P3TGAI) for the 2026 Fiscal Year, which will be implemented in approximately 12,000 locations across Indonesia. It is also recruiting Community Facilitators (TPM) to support its implementation.
PU Minister Dody Hanggodo stated that labor-intensive programs like P3TGAI play a crucial role in promoting equitable development and improving community welfare.
"This program is a crucial instrument to ensure that the benefits of development are felt equally across all levels of society. By involving local residents in development, labor-intensive programs create jobs, reduce unemployment, and increase people's purchasing power," explained the PU Minister on Monday (4/6/2026).
This labor-intensive program is one of the government's strategic instruments in strengthening national food security and creating jobs for communities in various regions.
In addition to its economic impact, this program is also designed to strengthen the role of communities in infrastructure development through self-management.
"By directly involving the community, this program not only produces beneficial infrastructure but also empowers them to actively participate in development," said Dudy.
Through this scheme, development funds circulate directly at the village level while fostering a sense of ownership in the irrigation infrastructure being built.
