Inp.polri.go.id - Mulia. Ahead of the 81st Indonesian Independence Day celebrations, a community outreach event featuring the distribution of aid packages took place in Mulia, Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua Province, on Saturday (15/8/2026).

Waitelenggen, Tribal Chief of Pegelimi District, personally handed over 150 essential food packages along with sports equipment, including three volleyball nets and six volleyballs, to local community members.

"This assistance represents direct care for our people," he said. "We hope residents will stand together to preserve community peace and security, especially leading up to the 17 August celebrations."

Local residents expressed their appreciation to the Central Government and President Prabowo Subianto for the direct assistance. Despite intimidation threats from separatist groups (KSTP) attempting to prohibit Independence Day activities, the security situation across Puncak Jaya remains peaceful, with the Red and White flag flying high across government offices, vital facilities, and public spaces.
