inp.polri.go.id - Batam. The Riau Islands Regional Police strengthened cross-border security synergy by hosting an audience with the Singaporean Consulate General for the Riau Islands region. 

The audience was attended by the Riau Islands Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Asep Safrudin, and Gavin Ang, a delegate from the Singaporean Consulate General in Batam.

Gavin Ang expressed his appreciation for the Riau Islands Regional Police's performance in maintaining a conducive security situation. 

He assessed that the stability of public order and security in the Riau Islands region, particularly Batam, provides a sense of security not only for local residents but also for foreign nationals, including Singaporeans.

"The security situation in Batam is very conducive. We appreciate the Riau Islands Regional Police's active role in maintaining stability, including good communication with the community," he said on Wednesday (4/29/2026).

Meanwhile, Chief Asep emphasized that the maintained security situation is the result of collaboration between all parties, including the police, local government, and the community. 

The Riau Islands Regional Police also continue to encourage the participation of all elements, including students and workers, in maintaining public order and security.

"Freedom of expression is a guaranteed right, but it must be exercised in an orderly and responsible manner, and without disrupting public order," he explained.
