Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto dismissed speculation that Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati had stepped down from her post, following widespread rumors circulating on Sunday.
“No,” he said briefly when asked about the resignation issue after a cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace on Sunday (31/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Minister Airlangga confirmed that Sri Mulyani attended the two-hour meeting chaired by President Prabowo Subianto.
He noted that while the finance minister did not deliver a presentation, her presence in the closed-door session underscored her active role in government.
The rumors emerged shortly after Minister Sri Mulyani’s residence in Bintaro was looted during unrest earlier in the day, sparking speculation about her political future.
Some unverified claims suggested she had tendered her resignation to President Prabowo, while others alleged she had been summoned to Hambalang. Neither the Presidential Palace nor Minister Sri Mulyani has provided an official statement on the matter.
