Inp.polri.go.id - Manado. Manado’s Sam Ratulangi International Airport confirmed on Thursday (2/4/2026) that flight operations remain fully functional despite the powerful magnitude 7.6 earthquake that struck North Sulawesi earlier that morning.
"A thorough inspection of our infrastructure confirms that all airport facilities are safe and airworthy," said Radityo Ari Purwoko, the General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia for Sam Ratulangi Airport, as cited by antaranews.com.
While the tremor caused minor aesthetic damage, including cracked ceilings and wall fissures in the terminal and Airport Facilities (AFL) building, officials reported that critical systems like Air Traffic Control (ATC) and the Common Use Check-in System (CUCS) were quickly restored.
No injuries were reported among passengers or staff, and the movement areas for aircraft were declared fully serviceable. Travelers were advised to remain calm and verify their flight schedules directly with their respective airlines as the airport maintains its regular departure and arrival flows.
