inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The South Tangerang Sub-regional Police continue to investigate the alleged counterfeiting and circulation of 10,000 Singapore dollar bills. Thirty-four bills with a total value of 340,000 Singapore dollars are now part of the police investigation.

South Tangerang Sub-regional  Police Chief, Superintendent Boy Jumalolo, stated that investigators have questioned six witnesses to uncover the case.

"We are also still questioning other parties deemed to have knowledge of the case," Boy said in a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday (9/9/2026).

In addition to questioning witnesses, the Indonesian National Police (INP)'s International Relations Division is requesting information from the Singaporean Police regarding the status of the investigation into an Indonesian citizen currently in their country.

The police are still awaiting an official response from Singaporean authorities regarding the case.

The case was previously reported to the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police on July 3, 2026. The case was then handed over to the South Tangerang Sub-regional Police for further investigation.

The alleged counterfeit money case also attracted the attention of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI). Legislators urged the police to thoroughly investigate the origins of the money, the flow of transactions, and the parties suspected of involvement.

Three members of Commission III of the DPR RI, Hasbiallah Ilyas, Rudianto Lallo, and Nasyirul Falah Amru, also known as Gus Falah, made similar statements. They assessed that the case had transnational dimensions, as the money in question was said to have circulated as far as Singapore.

They also requested that the case be handled without delay, as they believed it could impact Indonesia's image and legal certainty. They urged the police to immediately conduct a case review and name suspects if sufficient evidence was available.
