Inp.polri.go.id - Banjarbaru. The South Kalimantan Regional Police have intercepted a massive drug shipment consisting of nearly 30 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and over 15,000 ecstasy pills linked to the international Fredy Pratama syndicate. 

Authorities arrested a courier, identified as IW, at a Banjarmasin hotel on 20 February 2026, after tracking the illicit cargo’s journey from West Kalimantan through Central Kalimantan.

“We confiscated 29,944 grams of methamphetamine and 15,056 ecstasy pills which were transported from Palangka Raya to their final destination in Banjarmasin,” said Inspector General Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan, the South Kalimantan Police Chief, during a press briefing on Tuesday (24/2/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.

The seized narcotics, valued at approximately Rp 69 billion on the black market, were discovered hidden inside two large backpacks. Investigating officers revealed the suspect was acting under direct orders to supply the Banjarmasin area. Suspect IW now faces severe charges under the Narcotics Law, which carries a maximum penalty of death or life imprisonment as police continue to hunt for higher-level operatives within the network.
