inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police's Water and Air Security  Directorate released 15,000 milkfish and 150,000 whiteleg shrimp fingerlings in the ponds of Bagedor Hamlet, Pantai Harapan Jaya Village, Muaragembong District, Bekasi Regency.

This activity was carried out to support the national food security program and to strengthen the availability of raw materials for the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police's Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) on Tuesday (6/2/2026).

Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police's Water and Air Security Director, Senior Superintendent Mustofa, stated that the police's involvement in the activity demonstrates concrete support for the government's efforts to improve food security.

"Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, through our Water and Air Security Directorate, not only maintains security in the waters but also plays an active role in supporting food security and improving the welfare of coastal communities," he said.

According to Mustofa, Bekasi's coastal areas have significant potential in the aquaculture sector, which needs to be further developed.

Through the release of fish and shrimp seeds, it is hoped that the productivity of community ponds will increase, thereby providing better economic value for the farmers and surrounding residents.

He added that the fisheries cultivation sector has long been a primary source of livelihood for coastal communities.

"We want the potential of existing ponds to develop and provide greater benefits for residents," said Mustofa.

In addition to strengthening food security, the program is also expected to sustainably increase community incomes.

The seed release activity was also attended by community leader H. Zaini Sidi, pond farmer representative Munasir, and local residents.

The presence of various community elements reflects the strong synergy between the police and the community in building a productive, sustainable fisheries sector that supports food security in the Muaragembong area.
