inp.polri.go.id - Batam. The Riau Islands Regional Police signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with several industrial estate managers, banks, and strategic business entities. This activity aims to strengthen the security of national vital assets (Obvitnas) and maintain a stable investment climate.
The activity was led by the Riau Islands Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Asep Safrudin. The National Vital Object Representative from PT Kabil Indonusa Estate, Peter Vincent, stated that Obvitnas status has a significant impact on improving investor confidence, particularly from abroad.
"National vital object status is an added value in attracting investors, especially in the oil and gas, energy, and data center development sectors. Security support from the Riau Islands Police is also very helpful in maintaining the stability of the industrial estate," he said on Tuesday (3/31/2026).
He also appreciated the Riau Islands Regional Police's active role in maintaining regional security, including strengthening patrols in waters that have previously faced challenges. Asep emphasized that security is a key factor in supporting regional economic growth, particularly in strategic industrial areas like Batam.
"Security is the main foundation of the industrial system. We ensure the Riau Islands region remains safe and conducive to investment. However, this requires synergy from all parties, not just the police, but also company management and the community," explained Asep.
He then emphasized the importance of strengthening internal security systems, including monitoring and early mitigation of potential disturbances.
INP will take firm action against any form of public order disturbance that could hinder investment activities. The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding represents a concrete step in strengthening collaboration between the Riau Islands Regional Police and stakeholders to ensure the security of vital national assets while simultaneously promoting sustainable economic growth in the Riau Islands region.
