inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Sub-directorate IV of Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the South Sulawesi Regional Police, uncovered the smuggling of subsidized biodiesel fuel via sea using a tanker, confiscating a total of 120,000 liters of evidence.

"We collaborated with Regional Military Command VI to carry out an investigation. On February 26, 2026, seven tanker trucks were being transported to a Self-Propelled Oil Barge (SPOB)," said South Sulawesi Regional Police Chief Inspector General Djuhandhani Raharjo Puro on Tuesday (6/2/2026).

The investigation led to the identification of a tanker, identified as the MT Bakri I, which was traveling to Central Kalimantan. Authorities suspect there is a syndicate that is operating the crime.

"During the investigation, we uncovered several facts and pieces of evidence. Initially, we obtained an invoice that only listed a load of 30 kiloliters," explained Djuhandani

However, during further investigation, officers secured evidence in the form of two SPOB vessels, two pumps complete with 500 meters of hose, one MT Bakti I tanker complete with documentation, and 120 kiloliters of subsidized biodiesel fuel.

"From the results of the investigation, we have named seven individuals as suspects, with the initials SD, AD, FA, ASY, SG, RN, and RG. In addition, four other individuals have also been placed on the Wanted List (DPO): AD, FA, RN, and MG," said Djuhandani.

Of the seven suspects, three are company leaders, while the rest are suppliers or buyers of fuel, suspected to have purchased from several Public Fuel Stations (SPBU) in South Sulawesi.
