inp.polri.go.id - Mataram. Bima City Sub-regional Police Traffic Unit personnel's suspicions successfully uncovered the hundreds of pills suspected to be ecstasy. A total of 313 pills, suspected to be ecstasy, were recovered from a bag stored in the trunk of a motorcycle.

The discovery occurred while Traffic Unit personnel were directing traffic at the Pasar Raya Bima intersection on Wednesday (9/9/2026).

Bima City Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Mubiarto, confirmed the action taken against the motorists in a written statement received in Mataram on Wednesday.

"Yes, we secured two motorcycles with four riders," he said.

Based on suspicion of the motorists' movements, officers asked them to pull over for inspection. During the inspection, police discovered a bag stored in the trunk of one of the motorcycles.

"So, initially, our personnel were suspicious of the motorists' movements. After being asked to pull over and searched, the evidence was secured in a bag stored in the trunk of the vehicle," he said.

Officers then examined the contents of the bag. Inside, they found black plastic bags and used tea packaging containing hundreds of pills suspected to be ecstasy.

"Based on the initial examination, the items are suspected to be 313 ecstasy pills," he said.

Police then confiscated two motorcycles used by the riders.

The four people inside the vehicles, along with the evidence, were then handed over to the Bima City Police Narcotics Investigation Unit for further investigation.

"All of them have now been handed over to the Bima City Sub-regional Police Narcotics Investigation Unit for further investigation and legal proceedings," he said.

Mubiarto said further investigation was still needed to further investigate the findings, including determining the roles and involvement of the four people arrested.

According to him, the traffic control activities carried out by personnel in the field are not only aimed at maintaining the smooth flow and safety of road users.

The presence of police can also help maintain public order and security.
