inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) deployed tents and ready-to-eat foods to earthquake victims in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
The aid was flown through the Pondok Cabe Air Police Headquarters to ensure prompt delivery to the affected areas. Prioritizing temporary shelter and food supplies was the priority.
The aid included tent sets and 648 packages of ready-to-eat foods. A total of 47 people died as a result of the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck NTT.
This data is based on a preliminary report from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) as of Saturday (8/15/2026) at 6:48 PM.
"The total number of fatalities has reached 47. The victims are identified in Manggarai Regency (24), East Manggarai (17), Sikka (3), Ngada (1), and Ende (1)," explained Berton SP Panjaitan, Acting Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center, Sunday (8/16/2026).
He also reported that 157 houses were severely damaged, 41 houses moderately damaged, and 148 houses lightly damaged.
A number of public facilities were also damaged. The earthquake damaged 87 educational facilities, 18 health facilities, five places of worship, six offices, and several other public facilities.
