Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Thailand secured its 17th ASEAN Futsal Championship title after a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Indonesia in the 2026 final held at Nonthaburi Hall, Bangkok, on Sunday (12/4/2026).
Indonesia took an early lead through Andres Dwi Persada Putra in the 17th minute, but Thailand’s tactical resilience eventually turned the tide in a high-intensity match, according to antaranews.com.
Despite Indonesia’s aggressive start, Thailand equalized via a penalty from Itticha Praphaphan just seconds before halftime. The hosts seized control in the second half, with Panut Kittipanuwong striking the decisive goal in the 31st minute.
Although Indonesia utilized a power play strategy in the final minutes, they were unable to breach Thailand’s defense, ending their run as defending champions. This victory marked Thailand's return to the top of regional futsal, following Indonesia's brief interruption of their dominance in 2024.
