A total of five perpetrators were arrested from two different locations, with evidence totaling tens of thousands of prescription drugs.

Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Reynold E.P. Hutagalung, stated that the disclosure stemmed from public concern about illegal drug transactions in the Karang Anyar area.

"We followed up on information from people regarding the rampant distribution of prescription drugs. After conducting an investigation and further development, officers successfully apprehended five perpetrators along with evidence," said Reynold in a written statement on Sunday (4/19/2026).

The first disclosure was made on Thursday evening (4/16/2026). He stated that the investigative team apprehended three perpetrators, identified as W, S, and M, at several locations in the Karang Anyar and Kartini areas.

Officers confiscated various types of hard drugs from the three men, including tramadol, eksimer, alprazolam, and trihexyphenidyl. Based on the interrogation, police conducted further investigations and uncovered a similar case on Friday (4/17/2026) in a boarding house on Petak X street.

Two other suspects, I and A, were apprehended along with additional evidence in the form of hundreds of tramadol tablets and the proceeds. Sawah Besar Sector Police Chief, Police Assistant Superintendent Rahmat Himawan, explained that the total seized evidence in this bust amounted to 31,997 prescription drugs.
