inp.polri.go.id - Central Jakarta. The Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police have uncovered an illegal drug distribution operation in Tanah Abang in an operation on Wednesday (5/27/2026).

The police arrested three suspected dealers and confiscated 1,802 various types of hard drugs.

Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Reynold E.P. Hutagalung, stated that the case stemmed from public reports regarding the rampant distribution of illegal drugs in the Tanah Abang area.

"Based on information from the public, our team conducted an investigation and took action at several locations suspected of being used for illegal drug distribution. As a result of the operation, we arrested three individuals and seized thousands of hard drug pills as evidence," said Reynold in a statement on Thursday (5/28/2026).

He explained that the actions were carried out at three different locations: KS Tubun IV Petamburan street, Jati Baru Raya Kampung Bali street, and a shop on Lontar street, Kebon Kacang, Tanah Abang.

During the raid, police confiscated various types of hard drugs, including Heximer, Tramadol, Trihexyphenidyl, Xanax, Dumolid, Alprazolam, and Double Y pills.

"In addition, we also secured IDR 218,000 in cash, suspected to be the proceeds of the sale of these illegal drugs," he explained.

The three arrested perpetrators, identified as A (38), RAD (33), and K (43), are currently undergoing intensive questioning by the police.

Reynold emphasized that his team will continue to eradicate the distribution of illegal hard drugs, which disturb the public and have the potential to harm the younger generation.

He urged the public not to hesitate to report any suspicious activity related to drug or illicit drug distribution in their neighborhoods.

The suspects are being charged under Article 435, subsidiary to Article 436 paragraph 2 of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health, as amended by Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Penalties.
