inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Trade Budi Santoso confirmed that prices of basic necessities in several markets remain relatively stable and that stocks are sufficient ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H.

The Minister of Trade stated that his office is directly monitoring the markets to ensure the availability of goods and price stability at the market merchant level. According to him, the government's presence in the markets can also have a psychological effect on sellers, preventing them from selling commodities above the reference selling price (HAP) and the highest retail price (HET).

"Furthermore, market inspections can psychologically influence sellers not to sell at high prices or above the HET," said Budi on Monday (3/16/2026).

Based on monitoring results in several markets, various primary commodities remain within a reasonable price range.

Chicken prices were recorded at around IDR 40,000 per kilogram, in line with the HAP. Meanwhile, shallots were sold at IDR 40,000 per kilogram with a HAP of IDR 41,500.

Minyakita is sold for around IDR 15,700 per liter, or according to the government's highest retail price (HET).

Budi stated that the government is also promoting the availability of other brands of cooking oil to complement Minyakita so that the public has more choices at affordable prices.

"There are also many second-brand oils. These second-brand oils are actually complementary oils to Minyakita, so the public has more choices. Not only is Minyakita affordable, but we also want other oils to be affordable for the public," he explained.

However, Budi noted that several commodities, such as cayenne pepper and eggs, experienced slight price increases due to increased demand ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

He stated that these increases are still within reasonable limits. The government will continue to monitor prices and supplies of staple foods until Eid al-Fitr to ensure that public needs are met, one of which is through the Market and Staple Needs Monitoring System (SP2KP).
