inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Transportation is strengthening a digital-based transportation safety culture to improve compliance, effective supervision, and the quality of safe, reliable, and sustainable transportation services.
"A safe driving culture is crucial on the road, especially for digital app-based drivers who provide daily mobility services to the public," said Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi in a confirmed statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/28/2026).
Dudi emphasized this during a driving safety training held at the Jatijajar Terminal in Depok, West Java, held by Grab Indonesia in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation's Directorate General of Land Transportation and the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) for 1,052 motorcycle driver-partners in five cities.
"Every day, millions of people entrust their journeys to drivers. Everyone expects the same thing: a smooth and safe journey to their destination," said Dudi.
Therefore, he continued, safety should not be viewed merely as an obligation to comply with regulations, but rather as a work culture inherent in every driver so that every trip ends safely.
Dudi emphasized that every trip must culminate in safety, not just punctuality. According to him, safety must become a daily work habit.
"Safety must become a work habit, not just a slogan. Traffic discipline, respect for road users, maintaining vehicle condition, and prioritizing service ethics are non-negotiable responsibilities to protect drivers and the public," Dudy emphasized.
He added that strengthening digital transportation must go hand in hand with improving the quality of human resources and a culture of safety. Therefore, the Ministry of Transportation supports every initiative by digital transportation operators that encourages driver competency improvement and strengthens compliance with regulations.
