inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Tangerang Sub-regional Police have dismantled a synthetic drug distribution network using orders via social media and cross-regional package delivery.
Tangerang Sub-regional Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Andi Muhammad Indra Waspada Amirullah, stated that police arrested four suspects identified as MS, SFA, MK, and GPA, who were members of a synthetic drug distribution network in Tangerang Regency, South Jakarta, and South Tangerang.
"This modus operandi was carried out by four suspects across multiple regencies/cities," said Andi on Thursday (5/28/2026).
He explained that the case began with the arrest of suspect MS at a house in Kampung Bayur, Lebak Wangi, East Sepatan District on February 10, 2026. At the location, police found synthetic tobacco ready for distribution weighing 155.88 grams.
After examining the suspect's cell phone, police discovered a transaction involving an order for 100 grams of synthetic paste via social media. Officers then set up the delivery to Ulujami, South Jakarta.
"In our set up order, we found a package of drugs disguised inside a fast-food fried chicken package weighing 65.58 grams," said Andi.
Police then followed the case to Cipulir, South Jakarta. There, two other suspects, identified as SFA and MK, were arrested. At the location, police found a quantity of synthetic tobacco hidden in cigarette packs of varying weights, as well as a red plastic package containing synthetic tobacco weighing over two kilograms.
In addition to the drugs, police also confiscated alcohol, chloroform, an electronic scale, plastic clips, a stirrer, and a measuring cup suspected of being used in the production process.
The investigation then led to a rented house in Pondok Aren, South Tangerang. Police arrested suspect GPA and found 1,101 grams of solid synthetic tobacco and 15 milliliters of liquid narcotic spray.
For their actions, the suspects were charged under Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics and Article 609 paragraph (2) letter a of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
