inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Traffic Law Enforcement Sub-Directorate is investigating a roadside altercation that resulted in a roadblock between two drivers. The incident went viral on social media and was recorded by another driver passing through the Pelabuhan Toll Road.

"Yes (the Livina driver has clarified the matter)," explained the Head of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Traffic Law Enforcement Sub-Directorate, Superintendent Ojo Ruslani, on Wednesday (4/8/2026).

He explained that MW said the roadblock occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday (4/3/2026). At the time, he was driving on the Ir. Wiyoto Wiyono Toll Road and intended to change from lane 1 to lane 2.

According to Ruslani, when he attempted to change lanes, he found himself between two Innovas: a silver Toyota Innova (B 1856 URB) in front and a gray Toyota Innova (B 1188 IP) behind him. However, MW's attempt to change lanes was thwarted by a prolonged honking from the car behind him.

In the incident, MW, the driver of the Nissan Livina, did not know the cause of the prolonged honking.

"According to the person concerned, he didn't know the initial reason for the tight squeeze. The Livina kept trying to overtake but was repeatedly blocked, resulting in body friction," said  Ojo.

After a brief chase, he said, MW's car finally came to a forced stop before the Kemayoran Toll exit. A dispute then ensued between MW and the driver of the silver Innova.

"Before the Kemayoran Toll exit, MW was forcibly stopped. Driver 1 (a silver Inova) got out, attempted to snatch MW’s car keys, and insulted MW. Shortly after, two men and a woman from vehicle 2 (a gray Inova) with license plate number B 1188 IP also approached MW. The man simply watched, while the woman managed to intervene by insulting driver 1," he said.
