West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Chief Inspector General Kalingga Rendra Raharja confirmed on Tuesday (7/7/2026) that the criminal investigation into the arson attack involving three Islamic boarding school students in Central Lombok Regency is advancing rapidly. Investigators expect to formally name and announce criminal suspects later this week.

The Central Lombok Sub-regional Police have initiated the full investigation phase as detectives compile forensic evidence and testimonies to establish criminal culpability. Beyond pursuing strict statutory penalties against the perpetrators, the West Nusa Tenggara Police is coordinating efforts to secure institutional restitution and financial compensation to support the victims and their families.
Chief Kalingga concluded by issuing a formal safety directive to educational administrators and pesantren supervisors across the province, urging them to tighten security protocols and environmental oversight to guarantee safe sanctuary for all students.
