inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian stated that the official announcement regarding the work-from-home (WFH) policy to conserve energy amidst global dynamics will be made on Tuesday (3/31/2026).

"Just be patient. I've heard that it's very likely, likely, it will be officially announced tomorrow. So, I don't want to get ahead of myself," said Tito when asked about the policy's progress at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday.

Tito declined to provide further details regarding the WFH policy. However, he confirmed that the Ministry of Home Affairs would issue a more detailed advisory to regional governments.

"Yes, there will definitely be (an advisory to regional governments)," he said.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto previously confirmed that the government would announce the WFH policy before the end of March.

"The WFH policy will be announced before the end of the month (March)," Airlangga said when met at his office in Jakarta on Friday (3/27/2026).

This policy was initiated as a measure to reduce fuel consumption amidst pressure on global energy prices.

Airlangga explained that the WFH scheme is planned to apply one day a week to state civil servants (ASN), including civil servants (PNS) and government employees with work contracts (PPPK).

Meanwhile, for the private sector, the policy will be advisory in nature.

Furthermore, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa believes this policy will not disrupt national economic productivity and even has the potential to improve energy efficiency.

According to Purbaya, from a fiscal and economic perspective, the WFH policy will not have a significant impact on national productivity if implemented selectively.
