Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Arifah Fauzi urged the public to report cases of children exposed to online gambling, highlighting the urgent need to protect youth in the digital space.
Reports can be submitted via the official government service Sahabat Perempuan dan Anak (SAPA) 129 or WhatsApp at 08111-129-129.
“Exposure to online gambling can damage children’s psychological condition and future, leading to mental disorders, academic decline, and even criminal behavior,” said Minister Arifah on Friday (12/6/2026).
She noted that children caught in online gambling often resort to risky actions such as stealing, lying, digital fraud, or illegal loans to fund their bets. The government equates online gambling threats with pornography and addictive gaming, all of which exploit children’s brain dopamine systems.
Authorities are intensifying prevention efforts, including blocking gambling-related content and accelerating the implementation of the Presidential Regulation on the Child Online Protection Roadmap (PARD). Government data shows around 200,000 children have been exposed to online gambling, underscoring the need for community vigilance and early reporting.
