inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Health Ministry says that since the start of the disaster, 3,719 volunteers were sent to help the medical service in Aceh.
“We have deployed all health force potential and continue to monitor the volunteers distribution so that the aid can reach all destinations accordingly,” says the Head of Health Crisis Center of Health Ministry, Agus Jamaludin on Tuesday (1/6/2026).
Agus explained that all volunteers were mobilized and coordinated through the Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) in accordance with the Ministry of Health's disaster management procedures.
He explained that the HEOC was established from the first to the third day of the disaster in all affected areas. This control center analyzes the needs of healthcare workers and manages the traffic, allocation, and movement of volunteers to ensure effective and equitable health services.
Citing the cumulative report from the Health Services Sub-Cluster, volunteers are spread across 18 districts/cities and the provincial level. The largest concentration of volunteers is in Pidie Jaya Regency, with 1,065 people, and Aceh Tamiang Regency, with 923 people.
"Since the second day of the disaster, health volunteers have been placed in various service facilities. Currently, health services are provided through approximately 309 community health centers, 23 government hospitals, and 377 health posts reaching 1,008 evacuation posts," he said.
Agus highlighted the main challenge in this step: ensuring that volunteer rotations run smoothly without disrupting the continuity of services at health facilities.
"With an average volunteer assignment of 10–12 days, assignments are arranged to ensure that each facility remains staffed at all times," he said.
