inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Environmental Agency (DLH) stated that air quality during the 2025 Eid al-Fitr period (March 24–April 6) had improved compared to the previous two years.

Head of the Jakarta DLH, Asep Kuswanto, said that pollutant concentrations had decreased significantly. Compared to 2024, the decrease was in the range of 43–75 percent, while compared to 2023 it decreased by 18–69 percent.

"On the first day of Eid, the Air Pollutant Standard Index (ISPU) showed a 'good' category, and on the second day it was in the 'moderate' category," he said in a written statement, Tuesday (4/8/2025).

Data shows that the concentration of PM 2.5, the main pollutant in Jakarta, was lower during Eid al-Fitr compared to previous years. The most significant decrease occurred on Eid, compared to the previous days (D-7 to D-4).

However, the concentration of PM 2.5 reached its peak on March 26 and 27, which were the last days before the joint leave. "This is most likely due to the still high level of community activity ahead of the long holiday," explained the Head of the DKI Jakarta DLH.

After Eid, precisely on D+4 and D+5, the concentration of PM 2.5 increased again, as people returned to the capital city. "This pattern is important to monitor every year so that emission control policies are more targeted," he added.

The DLH recorded a significant decrease in PM 2.5 based on measurements of six types of pollutants from nine Air Quality Monitoring Stations (SPKU) in Jakarta.
