inp.polri.go.id - Serang. Banten Regional Police arrests five members of the syndicate of antigen test result forgery, made for people trying to cross to Merak Harbour, Cilegon. The five perpetrators are initialled as DSI from Cilegon city, RO from Tanggamus Regency, and YT, RS, and RP, a co-ass doctor, from Lampung.
Director of General Criminal of Banten Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Ade Rahmat, said that the case was started from public suspicion of a forged antigen test result service. The statement is used for people crossing from Merak Harbour to Bakauheni Harbour but reluctant to be checked for their health.
"The case started from received public information about an antigen test result service, without proper procedure", Director of General Criminal of Banten Regional Police said on Monday (26/7/2021).
On July 23, 2021, DSI was arrested in Merak Harbour when operating. From further development, another four suspects soon follow.
Based on the suspects' statement, according to Police Grand Commissioner Ade, the statement was sold for Rp100,000. "On 23.30 local time, Police arrested DSI, who took a role in seeking rental cars crossing to Bakauheni. One letter was sold for Rp100,000 with National ID Card, and then it was transferred to the RP, the co-ass doctor", he said.
Director of General Criminal of Banten Regional Police said that they target passengers who have difficulty getting the original statements. They spread and look for passengers who do not have antigen test result statements.
Five perpetrators have their own roles. RO and YT as the driver looking for people who do not have the statement, RS as the assistant driver, DSI as the ID collector, then passed on to RP, the co-ass doctor.
"They (conduct the action) since May, but not routine. After the Emergency PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions Enforcement) was changed into Level 4 PPKM, their activity becoming more intense", he explained.
Director of General Criminal of Banten Regional Police explained that the perpetrators use several clinic names to deceive their action. Their motives are for profits.
"They share the profit 50:50. 50% profit for the statement forger, and the rest for the ones looking for the passengers. Their motives are for personal profit", he said.
Due to their actions, they are subjected to Article 263 of the Indonesian Criminal Code, Article 268 of the Indonesian Criminal Code, Article 14 of Law No. 4 of 1984 about Infectious Disease Transmission, and Article 93 of Law No. 6 of 2018 about Health Quarantine.
