Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) announced plans to establish a Counter-Radicalization Task Force to strengthen measures against terrorism.
BNPT Chief Commissioner General Eddy Hartono said on Thursday (23/1/2025) that the initiative follows mandates from Law No. 5 of 2018, Government Regulation No. 77 of 2019, and BNPT Regulation No. 2 of 2023, which require a planned, integrated, systematic, and sustainable approach to counter-radicalization.
"Counter-radicalization must be conducted with clear coordination and continuity," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The task force will involve ministries and related agencies, creating a collaborative platform to align programs, activities, and objectives for effective implementation.
Counter-radicalization focuses on individuals or groups at risk of adopting radical ideologies. The goal is to prevent the spread of extremism by promoting nationalism and non-violence.
