Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Cianjur Sub-regional Police have ruled out Puncak II as an alternative route for Eid Al-Fitr homecoming due to damaged roads, narrow lanes, and landslide-prone areas.
Cianjur Police Head of Traffic Unit Assistant Senior Inspector Hardian Ardianto said on Friday (14/3/2025) that a recent survey found the route unsafe, with inadequate road signs and lighting.
“Puncak II is not recommended for travelers due to road damage, narrow sections, and landslide risks,” he said, as reported by antaranews.com.
Authorities have assessed other routes, such as Jonggol and Sukaluyu, which remain viable but require caution. The Jonggol route, while accessible, has potholes, poor lighting, and insufficient road signs.
Efforts are underway to enhance safety along these alternative routes, ensuring a smoother journey for travelers between Cianjur, Bogor, and Jakarta.
Chief Hardian also urged drivers using the southern route to heed warnings, as extreme weather increases the risk of landslides.
