Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force has firmly rejected claims that the joint Indonesian Military (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (INP) security forces have used the Ephesus GIDI Church in Oksop District in Papua as a military post or logistics hub.

These accusations, deemed unfounded, are described as an attempt to provoke unrest in Papua.

Senior Superintendent Yusuf Sutejo, the Damai Cartenz Task Force Head of Public Relations maintained on Monday (20/1/2025)  that the situation in Oksop remains peaceful, with locals safely going about their daily activities.

He emphasized that the joint security  forces are committed to protecting the community and maintaining peace in the region.

“The claim that the Ephesus GIDI Church is being used as a military base is false and a hoax. We urge the people of Papua not to be swayed by misinformation intended to create chaos,” said Chief Sutejo, stressing that the security forces uphold human rights and operate in compliance with legal regulations.

The ongoing operation aims to safeguard the community from armed group threats and restore stability.

Chief Sutejo called on the public to remain calm and vigilant against false narratives, advising them to verify any dubious information through official sources.

“Oksop is safe and sound. Let’s work together to keep Papua peaceful and reject harmful rumors,” he said.
