Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Damai Cartenz Task Force are tightening control in Mangoldolki village, Kiwirok District in Bintang Mountains regency, after members of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) set fire to a junior high school on Tuesday morning (7/10/2025). 

The attack, carried out by around 16 armed men, destroyed the SMP Negeri Kiwirok junior high school building in Sopamikma village.

“Attacking schools is a cruel act that targets the future of Papuan children. This is not only a crime against the state but also against humanity. We will continue to pursue the perpetrators to ensure Kiwirok remains secure,” said Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani, the Head of the Damai Cartenz Task Force, as quoted by antaranews.com.

THE forces were deployed immediately to the scene, but the assailants fled toward Delpem village. Authorities have since reinforced security around nearby areas, including the Kiwirok Elementary School, to prevent further violence. The same school was burned by the KKB in 2021
