Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian government and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) reinforced the importance of humanitarian diplomacy as a tool to strengthen international cooperation during the 2025 Annual Briefing Session in Jakarta on Wednesday (21/5/2025).
“This annual session serves as a strategic platform to enhance bilateral partnerships, particularly in promoting and implementing International Humanitarian Law,” said Robianto, the Assistant Deputy for Legal Affairs and Restorative Justice at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The event outlined ICRC’s 2025 work plan in Indonesia and welcomed stakeholder feedback.
Vincent Ochilet, Head of ICRC’s Regional Delegation for Indonesia and Timor-Leste, emphasized ICRC’s role as a neutral, independent organization under the 1949 Geneva Conventions. ICRC plans a roundtable with ASEAN Secretariat this year.
