Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday (11/12/2025) condemned Israel’s unauthorized entry into the UNRWA compound in Sheikh Jarrah, East Jerusalem, saying that the action violated international law and obstructed the UN agency’s mandate. 

It said the incident, which occurred on 8 December 2025, must be addressed immediately to protect UN facilities and operations. 

“This act constitutes a serious breach of international legal obligations, including the 1946 Convention and the ICJ Legal Opinion of 22 October 2025,” the ministry said in a statement, as cited by antaranews.com.

The Foreign Ministry explained that Israel forcibly entered the compound, cut all communications, seized property, and replaced the UN flag with the Israeli flag. UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini confirmed the raid and stressed that the facility “remains United Nations premises and is inviolable under international law.”

Indonesia reiterated its full support for UNRWA, emphasizing the agency’s essential role in providing education, healthcare, and humanitarian aid to Palestinian refugees.
