Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The governments of Indonesia and Saudi Arabia are focusing on strengthening cooperation, particularly in the industrial sector, to mitigate the impacts of global economic uncertainty and US policies.

This discussion took place between Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita and Saudi Arabia's Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef in Jakarta on Wednesday (16/4/2025).

"Global uncertainty must be our collective concern, including how we can find the right policies to mitigate potential US policies, particularly from Trump," said Minister Agus after the meeting, as reported by antaranews.com.

Both parties agreed that enhancing bilateral cooperation is crucial to managing these challenges.

With trade between the two countries at a low $3.3 billion in 2024, there is substantial room to expand collaboration, especially in petrochemicals and mineral development, which would benefit both nations. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) will formalize these efforts.
